Section 5
Restaurant customer data
Restaurants may use Caterly to collect and manage information about their own customers, prospects, and catering contacts. In these circumstances, the restaurant generally determines:
- what information it collects;
- why it collects that information;
- how it uses the information;
- what communications it sends; and
- how long it retains the information.
Caterly processes that information to provide the services requested by the restaurant.
If you provided your information to a restaurant through a Caterly-powered page, your primary relationship concerning that information may be with the restaurant. Questions about the restaurant's own collection or use of your information should generally be directed to that restaurant.
Section 6
Marketing communications
Caterly provides tools that restaurants may use to send email and SMS communications to their customers and prospects. Restaurants are responsible for obtaining and maintaining any consent required for their marketing communications and for complying with applicable laws governing those communications.
Caterly may maintain records relating to communication preferences, consent, unsubscribe requests, and delivery activity so that communication preferences can be respected and documented.
Caterly may also send its own transactional or service-related communications to users of the Caterly platform. Marketing communications from Caterly itself will include an appropriate unsubscribe mechanism where required.
Section 9
Third-party services
Caterly relies on third-party infrastructure and service providers. These may include providers for hosting and databases, authentication, payments, email, SMS, maps and geographic data, artificial intelligence, and other infrastructure necessary to provide the service.
Third-party services may process information in jurisdictions outside your home province, territory, or country. Their own terms and privacy policies may apply to information they process.
Section 10
Payment information
Caterly may use third-party payment processors to process subscription payments. Caterly does not intend to store complete payment-card numbers on its own systems. Payment information is handled by the applicable payment processor according to its own security and privacy practices.
Section 11
Data retention
We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, including providing the service, maintaining business and transaction records, resolving disputes, enforcing agreements, maintaining security, and complying with legal obligations.
Retention periods may vary depending on:
- the type of information;
- the reason it was collected;
- whether an account remains active;
- legal or accounting requirements; and
- legitimate business needs.
When information is no longer required, we may delete, anonymize, or securely dispose of it.
Section 12
Security
Caterly uses reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, loss, and misuse.
No internet-based service can guarantee absolute security. If Caterly becomes aware of a security incident involving personal information, we will assess the incident and take steps required by applicable law.
